Default Best Time to Visit

When is the best time to visit Portugal? I know there are high and low seasons, but I think I should come when I would able to make the most out of my visit to this country. When would that be?

If you plan to visit the Algarve, avoid July and August which are very hot and very crowded.

The north can be very wet and cold in the winter.

Many people prefer June or September but much depends on where you wish to visit and of coure your holiday entitlement!

Portugal can be visited all year round. June- September are months that are said to be the tourist peak seasons. But if you want to enjoy their much celebrated events and carnivals try to visit on the months of February to April.

You can visit Portugal any time of the year, and your enjoyment of the place would depend on which places you would like to visit. You can browse the tourism sites for schedule of events.

I don't mind the hot weather. Where I live can be extremely hot, so I am certain that the weather will be no problem for me. Is there a time where the weather is hot, but not crowded with tourists?

Hi Lissandra. Were the same. I wouldn't mind too being in a certain country with hot or cold weather. Because I'm use to it. But it will be problem for me if it's an extreme hot weather. Since I'm asthmatic. Too bad.
